These were the lungs of a famous wine taster who unfortunately fell down the stairs of a cellar in the ancient country estate at Les Trois Chênes.
From right to left, top to bottom: apical, Chianti; posterior, Pinot noir; anterior, Cabernet Sauvignon;
lateral, claret; medial, Gewürztraminer; superior, Cabernet (New World varieties); medial basal, Chardonnay; ant. basal and post. basal, Zinfandel; lateral basal, Ume no Sake (plum-rice wine).

Left lung: upper lobe (except lingular segments), Merlot; lingular segments, sherry (local varieties); lower lobe, champagne (all varieties); the peach represents the fuzzy ciliated tracheal epithelium, the glass of peach schnapps, the goblet cells.
Pomona, the Roman goddess of orchards, vineyards, and fruit cultivation, looks on from the carina.
